WEATHER UNTIL OCTOBER 4, 2024, ANALYSIS AND FORECAST
A rapid cold front is passing over Italy and affecting the weather this weekend with rain and thunderstorms moving from the Northeast to the southern regions.
Colder air follows the front and is responsible for the temperature drop that will be felt by Sunday even in the South, with values dropping by 10 degrees, locally falling below average along the Adriatic slopes.

The burst of showers and thunderstorms will be very rapid.
The weather is expected to improve already during Sunday, due to a new anticyclonic rise rapidly expanding from Western Europe.
There will therefore be a new period of stable weather, which however should not last long due to new Atlantic disturbances approaching from the west. At the beginning of the week, a first front will brush the North but with little effect, limited to some light precipitation more likely in the Alpine and pre-Alpine areas as well as in Liguria.
The Center-South will benefit more from the anticyclonic push with plenty of sunshine and temperatures rising to milder values, though without the heat of the past days. Only from Wednesday will the worsening come into full swing starting from Northern Italy, with the plunge of a cyclonic vortex from Central Europe that should drive rain and colder air over the rest of Italy by Thursday.
The cyclonic vortex will then slowly evolve towards the Balkans over the weekend, still causing some residual instability in Southern Italy.
IN DETAIL
Sunday, September 29: last whims in the morning on the central Adriatic and in the South, with some local showers improving.
Generally sunny in the rest of Italy, clouds increasing from the evening in the Northwest but completely harmless.
Sharp temperature drop in the South and strong northern winds. Monday, September 30: partial cloudiness in the North with some local light precipitation especially in the Alps and from the evening in Liguria. Good weather elsewhere with rising temperatures. Tuesday, October 1: gloomy with some phenomena in Liguria, Upper Tuscany, and the Alpine Arc. Further weather trends: a low-pressure system will deepen over the Italian seas, causing instability and bad weather first in the Center-North and then also in the South.
