WEATHER UNTIL JANUARY 9, 2025, ANALYSIS AND FORECAST
The period of stable weather ends, with the decline of the anticyclone rapidly retreating under the blows of a cold front, linked to a Scandinavian depression, piling up against the Alps and waiting to cross them.
This disturbance will be supported by Arctic air that will invade all of Central-Northern Europe and then the eastern nations of the Continent, with snow down to the plains. In Italy, it will not be the same, due to the rapid sliding of the cold front towards the Balkans and the prompt push from the west of high pressure, which will hinder the entry of cold air towards the Central Mediterranean basin. The disturbed passage will be felt especially towards the Center-South on January 3 with rain, showers, snow in the Apennines, and strong winds. Following this disturbance, Italy will experience a temporary anticyclonic rise that will bring stable weather, but it will only be a brief respite.
The good weather will mainly concern Saturday, January 4, except for residual showers in the South. Between January 5 and 6, a new disturbance will advance linked to an Atlantic depression deepening over the United Kingdom. The front will more directly affect the North and the western regions. Temperatures will rise to above average, due to southern currents, and only in parts of the North will it feel a bit cold.
Only on Tuesday, January 7, will the disturbance reach the North-East and the Tyrrhenian areas of the Center-South, with temperatures moderately dropping.
The real Winter will remain distant.

Friday, January 3, 2025: improvement in the North, except for residual precipitation in the North-East.
The active part of the disturbance will reach the central regions, with precipitation first on the Tyrrhenian areas and then in the evening on the Adriatic regions, snowy in the mountains.
Worsening in Campania. Saturday, January 4, 2025: in the morning, rain in the South, but easing.
Generally sunny elsewhere, but with increasing cloudiness by evening in the North-West regions and Tuscany. Sunday, January 5, 2025: first rains in Liguria, by evening also in parts of the North. Further weather trends: the disturbance for the Epiphany will bring rain to the North intensifying in the evening, while it will improve in the Center-South where the disturbed front will pass on January 7.
