WEATHER UNTIL JULY 12, 2024, ANALYSIS AND FORECAST
The weekend weather immediately shows some changes, with nice weather soon challenged in some regions. The dominance of the high-pressure system tends to consolidate in the Central-South, while the North is affected by new unstable infiltrations.
A disturbance advances from France, eroding the upper edge of the high-pressure system with its tail reaching parts of Italy.

The high-pressure system is giving way in the North with a worsening of the weather over the Alps where storms also spill over into parts of the Po Valley.
There will be occasionally violent phenomena, also associated with hail.
The Central-South will see mostly harmless cloudiness pass through, mixed also with Saharan dust that will return to cloud the sky. Next week, the African high-pressure system will expand northward, involving all of Italy.
Only the Alpine sectors will experience some isolated showers or localized thunderstorms.
The heat seems set to persist and intensify everywhere, so much so that from July 9-10, peaks around 40 degrees are expected in the inland areas between the South and the two major islands. The heat will be felt more sharply in the Central-South, but also on the plains of the North there will be a lot of humidity.
A change could then occur around the end of next week, due to the advance from the west of a trough that could push the African high-pressure system southward, paving the way for the entry of cooler oceanic currents.
IN DETAIL
Sunday, July 7: marked instability associated with scattered thunderstorms here and there on the Alps, Prealps, and high plains, with more incisive phenomena between Piedmont and mid-upper Lombardy.
Sunny or veiled elsewhere, with transit of denser clouds between Sardinia and Tyrrhenian coasts where some rain may occur. Monday, July 8: the reinforcement of the high-pressure system will ensure sun and increasing heat.
Cloudiness between Lombardy and the Northeast, with isolated showers more likely near mountainous areas. Tuesday, July 9: widespread good weather and temperatures further rising with increasing humidity. Further weather trends: the African high-pressure system will persist.
Some thunderstorms will generally be limited to occasionally involving the Alpine sectors.
Only at the end of next week might there be a change due to the approach of a front that could break the heat wave.
