The month of November has now reached the end of its first decade without any particularly interesting meteorological events being recorded on our Italian Peninsula, unlike other countries such as Spain.
In Italy, during these first nine days, a vast field of high pressure has dominated, leading to temperatures 5-6°C above the seasonal average, particularly in Northern Italy.
These conditions, combined with the absence of significant air circulation (understood as winds), have significantly favored the formation of fog banks and haze over much of the territory.
The areas most affected by these phenomena have been the plains and coastlines, accompanied by humidity levels well above 90%.
As a result, the quality of the air can now be described as poor. However, from the middle of this week, something has finally started to disturb this high-pressure field.
A disturbance that affected Spain in recent days has managed to wedge into the Mediterranean and has changed the weather conditions for our two Major Islands.
In the past hours, rains and thunderstorms have affected these regions, and for the upcoming weekend, it might still be necessary to keep an umbrella at hand. In this article, we will look at the weather forecast for this second weekend of November.
More rains in the far South, while the stable and foggy phase continues in the rest of the country
Between today and tomorrow, the meteorological situation will be slightly different from usual, with an increase in cloudiness in all sectors, except in the far North.
Today, there will be a chance of some light showers in Liguria, the central Apennines, as well as in Sardinia and Sicily.
Tomorrow, however, a sunnier situation is expected in the Center-North, while in the South the sky will be very cloudy, with further rains between Sicily, Sardinia, the Ionian Calabria, and locally also on the Campanian Apennines.
As always, especially in the North, there will be a probability of fog and haze forming during the coldest hours of the day. Temperatures will be decreasing in both minimum and maximum values across the peninsula.
The minimums will range between 7°C and 9°C in the North, up to 10-13°C in the South.
The maximums, on the other hand, will reach 20°C on the Tyrrhenian side on Saturday, while on Sunday they will not exceed 17-18°C.
