WEATHER UNTIL NOVEMBER 28, 2024, ANALYSIS AND FORECAST
A quick impulse of Arctic air will bring the first hint of winter weather to parts of Italy, particularly in the North with expected low-altitude snowfalls.
The new disturbance is creating a deep low-pressure system over Italy, leading to a more substantial influx of cold air. The cold front will move towards the Center-South on Friday, with a temperature drop and snow in the Apennines. Over the weekend, the currents will change again, and we will have a rapid temperature rise, with the subtropical anticyclone quickly returning to dominate the scene.
The deepening of a new cyclone in the Atlantic, near Great Britain, will stimulate an intense warm air flow that will also rise towards Central-Western Europe, displacing the pre-existing cold air. The climate will quickly become milder even in Italy, and high pressure will dominate for several days, though not with sunny weather everywhere.
On Saturday, November 23, we will have the remnants of the cold circulation in the South and still chilly air throughout Italy, with frosts in the plains and valleys of the Center.
On Sunday, new Atlantic infiltrations will already appear in the North and Tuscany. The new week will start without significant changes, with the anticyclonic presence disturbed by new Atlantic infiltrations associated with a quick frontal impulse expected on Tuesday, the 26th.
The phenomena will be limited to some areas of the Center-North.
In the second part of the week, a cooling is not excluded, starting from the North, due to the influence of a cold vortex from Eastern Europe.
IN DETAIL
Friday, November 22: residual showers in the morning in the North-East between Lower Veneto and Emilia Romagna, quickly diminishing.
Greater instability in the Center-South, improving between Tuscany and Lazio.
Snow in the Apennines with evening spillovers below 3280 feet between Marche and Abruzzo. Saturday, November 23: sunny almost everywhere, with rising maximum temperatures.
Residual morning disturbances on the lower Adriatic side, with some diminishing rain. Sunday, November 24: deteriorating in Liguria and Upper Tuscany, sunnier in the rest of Italy. Further weather trends: the influence of the subtropical anticyclone will continue, but with humid Atlantic infiltrations especially in the North and partly in the central regions.
Only after midweek could the cold reappear in the North.
