WEATHER UNTIL DECEMBER 3, 2024, ANALYSIS AND FORECAST
A weak disturbance affects the weather in parts of Italy, in a very mild context with temperatures above average, especially in the Center-South. The front is significantly weakened by the presence of the anticyclone.
Rains will affect parts of the North and the central Tyrrhenian regions, but the focus is on what awaits us in the second part of the week. The novelty will be represented by the approach of a cold impulse from Northern Europe to bring back more winter scenarios.
The first signs of deterioration will begin to show at the end of Thursday 28, with snow on the border Alps and rain showers in the North-East regions. Starting from Friday 29, the cold vortex will come into full swing, ready to heavily affect the weekend. The trajectory is still uncertain and needs to be defined precisely, with the latest projections seeing the more direct involvement of the Adriatic regions and then Southern Italy.
There will probably be an opportunity for the return of snow locally down to the hills in the Apennines.
The cold will be felt throughout Italy, further intensified by strong northern winds. Between Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, the vortex will isolate itself between the Balkans and Southern Italy, then more directly affecting Greece and Turkey. In Italy, the anticyclone will start to press from the west, but it will still be a context of winter cold everywhere with lingering instability in parts of the South and the central-southern Adriatic regions.
IN DETAIL
Wednesday, November 27: some precipitation will persist between Emilia Romagna, Triveneto, Tuscany, and Marche, improving.
Generally dry elsewhere, though with more compact clouds along the Tyrrhenian side where some isolated rain may occur. Thursday, November 28: initially sunnier day, apart from irregular even compact clouds on the middle and lower Tyrrhenian side.
In the evening, it worsens on the Alps and in the North-East, with the first showers. Friday, November 29: the cold disturbance will break into the Center-South, with snow in the Apennines. Further weather trends: weekend with a winter flavor, but instability will localize on the middle Adriatic side and part of the South.
