But let’s see some more details.
Autumn in full swing
Autumn seems to be in full swing, with a cyclone crossing our seas causing widespread weather deterioration.
This perturbation mainly involves the Center-North of Italy.
Regions such as Romagna, Tuscany, Marche, Umbria, and Lazio will see abundant precipitation.
However, the real protagonist of this wave of bad weather will be the return of snow, especially in the Alps, where the cold air at altitude will cause a significant drop in temperatures.
Colder climate
Temperatures, in fact, will drop below the seasonal average, with significant snowfalls expected particularly in the Dolomites.
Starting from Thursday 3, snowflakes could fall up to 1500 meters of altitude, especially in Trentino Alto Adige, in the areas of Valle d’Aosta, and in Valtellina, in Lombardy.
Not just the Alps
Not only the Alps will be involved in this cold and snowy scenario.
Also in the central Apennines, particularly between Thursday 3 and Friday 4, snowfalls can be observed, although at higher altitudes, between 1900 and 2100 meters.
These are the first white sprinkles in many months for the Apennine areas and this should be seen as excellent news.
Some considerations
The arrival of this perturbation marks a significant turning point in the weather of this Autumn.
After a period characterized by mild temperatures and relatively sunny days, the High Pressure will give way to more dynamic conditions. The contrast between the Anticyclone that dominated in previous weeks and the incursion of this cold air mass will lead to a clear change in the atmospheric scenario.
