This abrupt weather change will also be remembered as a sort of actual entry into the Meteorological Autumn, with the atmosphere, after weeks and weeks of scorching and relative calm, preparing to offer a completely different weather context.
In the last two days, the first signs of weather deterioration have already been observed, but it will be precisely Thursday, September 5 that will mark the peak of this phase of bad weather.
A cyclonic vortex will move its center towards the Ligurian Sea, bringing with it a series of extreme weather phenomena.
The most affected areas will be those of the North and Central Italy, but some areas of the South will not be spared either.
In the North, the alpine and pre-alpine regions, as well as the Northwest in the morning and the Northeast during the day, particularly Veneto, will be the most exposed to heavy rains and downpours.
These phenomena could cause landslides, mudslides, and local flash floods, making the situation potentially dangerous from a hydrogeological perspective.
The Center will also be under the influence of strong thunderstorms, particularly in the Tyrrhenian sectors, especially in Tuscany and the surrounding Apennine areas. Abruzzo and Molise will be less affected but not entirely exempt from precipitation.
In the South, Campania will be the region most exposed to this weather deterioration, while elsewhere the weather will be variable, with the need to always keep an umbrella handy.
With the arrival of Friday, September 6, the weather situation will gradually return to normal, albeit with some residual instability, especially in the Northeast.
The improvement in weather conditions will thus introduce us to a more tranquil Saturday, September 7, but we will need to prepare for a new and severe weather deterioration expected for Sunday, September 8.
