The Anticyclone extending from the Mediterranean to Central Europe has so far ensured stable weather, contributing to the rise in temperatures. However, the disturbance on September 5 marked the end of this phase of atmospheric tranquility, drastically changing the weather with an increase in cloud cover and an intensification of storm phenomena.
Significant impact in the North
The northern areas of Italy will be the first to experience the effects of the disturbance, with precipitation and thunderstorms gradually extending towards the Center and the South.
Temperatures will undergo a sharp decrease, aligning with the typical values of the season. This thermal drop is particularly noticeable in the inland and mountainous regions, where the decrease will be more pronounced.
Persistent heat on the Islands, but not for long
Meanwhile, Sicily and Sardinia will continue to record high temperatures until the arrival of the disturbance.
In these regions, the heat will persist for a few more days, but a substantial change is expected starting from the second week of September.
Lowering of nighttime temperatures
As Autumn approaches, nighttime temperatures will begin to decrease, falling below 20 degrees in several locations, especially in mountainous areas and inland valleys. During the day, maximum temperatures will remain at more moderate levels, rarely exceeding 25-27 degrees in the sunniest areas.

The weather conditions in the coming weeks will therefore be characterized by cooler and more variable weather, typical of the imminent autumn season. It is time to adjust your wardrobe in anticipation of lower temperatures and shorter days. The transition from hot summer days to cool autumn evenings will be gradual but clearly noticeable.

It is true that many of you will appreciate the late heat, perhaps when the solar radiation burns less.
But it is also true that it is not possible to continue thinking that it is normal to have 30-35 degrees in September. The time of intense heat should be over, and now the atmosphere finally agrees in affirming it.
