WEATHER UNTIL JULY 6, 2024, ANALYSIS AND FORECAST
Oppressive heat dominates half of Italy, but strong storms have affected the weather in parts of the North-West, with torrential rains, cloudbursts, and significant damage in Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta. These phenomena, locally violent, are triggered by the contrast between the warm subtropical air mass and the interference of cooler air aloft.

We are at the peak of the heatwave, with temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees and beyond in some locations in the South and Sicily. The African flare-up should then give way to a very decisive cooling at the beginning of the new week, with new stormy impulses also moving towards Central-South. The African anticyclone will be forced to retreat, with temperatures even dropping below average due to the lively flow of fresh North-Atlantic air that will spread across the entire country through strong Mistral winds.
Following from July 4-5, Italy should benefit from the westward expansion of the Azores high. Full summer weather will then prevail again in the second part of next week, with rising temperatures, but without excessive heat.
Only the North will experience some unstable infiltrations, but with minor storms mostly confined to the Alpine and pre-Alpine areas.
In short, we will most likely, experience the classic July summer.
