The weather conditions expected for October suggest a very disturbed context, with a clear departure from the prolonged summers we were used to. Although the anticyclone may reappear, the lack of favorable conditions seems to prevent its lasting stabilization. This is a trend reversal that fits into a broader context of seasonal evolution, characterized by significant changes and potential extremes.
After a complicated October, November could also present further challenges, not only with the persistence of atmospheric instability, but also with a possible early arrival of cold weather.
The development of Mediterranean cyclones, the so-called “Medicanes“, which could further aggravate the conditions of the month, is not excluded.
This condition could trigger an anomalous cold wave in Italy as early as November, with possible low-altitude snowfalls.
Although not unprecedented, such events are rare, and this year’s potential impact could surpass previous cold outbreaks in terms of intensity and snow accumulation.
While long-term seasonal projections often suggest a return to drought conditions and high temperatures, the current trend suggests that the winter of 2024-2025 could surprise, characterized by being colder and more dynamic than usual.
It remains essential to constantly monitor atmospheric evolution to adequately respond to extreme events that may occur in the coming months.
