Temperatures will remain cool, ranging between 15°C and 22°C, with intense rains and locally even hailstorms. Liguria and the pre-Alpine belt of Lombardy risk seeing rain accumulations exceeding 50 mm in a few hours, increasing the risk of flooding and landslides in the most vulnerable areas.
Watch out for central Italy too
In Central Italy, Tuscany and Lazio will face a significant worsening of the weather, with abundant rains and thunderstorms particularly in coastal areas and inland areas.
Temperatures here will be milder compared to the North, with values ranging between 18°C and 25°C.
Precipitation could accumulate up to 40-50 mm in some areas, with possible disruptions to traffic and infrastructure.
However, the regions of Umbria and Marche will see a more stable situation, with less severe weather phenomena, although light rains are not excluded.
South, last moments of intense heat
Moving to Southern Italy, the weather situation will be calmer compared to the North and Center.
The heat will still be the protagonist, with peaks of over 35°C in the inland areas from Puglia to Sicily.
These will be the last moments of great heat before the cool down on Monday. The high surface temperature of the seas plays a fundamental role in fueling the formation of maritime thunderstorms, particularly along the coasts of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the northern Adriatic.
Southwesterly winds will intensify, with gusts that could reach 60 km/h, increasing the possibility of storm surges along the coasts of Liguria and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The weather conditions at sea will make port operations and fishing activities difficult, with waves that could exceed 2 meters in height.
