Incredible because, in our opinion, it will offer scenarios that haven’t been seen for a while. In recent decades, we have become accustomed to long summer appendices, sometimes capable of extending even into November.
And by summer appendices, we don’t just mean beautiful days… We mean sun and heatwaves, sun and sultriness, sun and heat.
You name it, the meaning is the same. How many times has it happened to get close to Christmas in shirt sleeves? Many times… Maybe not everywhere, maybe not in the mountains (which would be missing), but in coastal areas of the South and the two major islands, yes, it has happened often. The premise we are proposing is absolutely necessary, and do you know why? Because it helps us explain something that might surprise you and us. Not that we are unprepared, to be clear, after all, we have been writing our thoughts on the trend of September for weeks. We have exposed ourselves, we have bet, but it seems we did well because the facts – very soon – could prove us right. Right about the fact that it will be a turbulent month, mainly characterized by sharp thermal contrasts and consequently potentially violent atmospheric phenomena. Already in the coming days, for example, we will have a taste of what we are telling you.
A taste of the fact that the weather, these days, should never be underestimated.
For our part, we would like to keep the tension high, also because the first autumn deterioration risks being really violent. Deterioration that, let’s remember, should happen within a few days. 3-4 days, 4-5 days, depending on the forecast models considered.
But beyond the timing, it is the clear atmospheric signal that Autumn is ready to party, Autumn is ready to unleash as it hasn’t done in years. It will be due to La Nina, it will be due to ocean thermal anomalies, it will be due to the Mediterranean, it will be whatever you want, but the fact is that this year will be an old-style Autumn.
An Autumn to remember, a memorable Autumn, an Autumn that will take us back in time.
