However, from January 2, there will be a weakening of the anticyclone, paving the way for the first disturbance of the month and marking a change in the Euro-Mediterranean climate.
Stable today, the anticyclonic dominance starts to collapse tomorrow
For New Year’s Eve, the weather will generally be stable.
More extensive cloud cover is expected over Liguria, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, and Sardinia, with persistent fog in the Po Valley and the internal valleys of the Center, which may partially dissipate during the day.
Light rain is possible in central Liguria, while the sun will have more space in the rest of the country. Minimum temperatures will rise slightly, but maximum temperatures may be lower in areas with more cloudiness. Winds will be light, with local reinforcements of Libeccio on the Ligurian Sea and Scirocco in the Sardinia Channel. From January 2, the North will see initially cloudy skies, with wide clearings in the afternoon.
The Alps will experience snowfall in the border areas in the second part of the day, while evening showers are expected between eastern Liguria and Friuli.
In the Center, Tuscany and Lazio will be characterized by variable cloudiness with the possibility of local rain, while the South will have clear skies, although with morning fog.
The first disturbance of the month and the year arrives on the 3rd
January 3 will mark a drop in atmospheric pressure, with stable temperatures.
In the Center-North, the weather will worsen: rain is expected in Liguria and upper Tuscany, with overcast skies over much of the Po Valley.
For January 4, a further increase in cloudiness is expected throughout the country, with more widespread rain in the Center-South and snowfall above 4593-5249 feet (1400-1600 meters).
