Northern Italy The weather conditions will initially see dense clouds affecting the Alps and western areas, with fog banks along the Po River during the early morning hours. Light rain is expected in Liguria. As the morning progresses, cloud cover will intensify across all of Northern Italy, bringing rain and scattered showers.
In the evening, these phenomena will be particularly widespread in Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Snow will appear in the afternoon in the Alps and Prealps, quickly descending to 1640-1970 feet, with more substantial snowfall expected in Valle d’Aosta and the northeastern highlands.
Towards evening, light snowfalls will also affect the Piedmontese Apennines, the Ligurian Apennines, and the Emilian Apennines, starting from 985-1310 feet.
In this last area, there could be a risk of freezing precipitation. Central Italy and Sardinia In Central Italy, the day will begin with a gradual intensification of clouds along the coasts of Tuscany and Lazio, extending to inland areas such as Umbria and the Apennine areas of Marche and Abruzzo.
In the afternoon and evening, showers and widespread rain are expected, particularly in Tuscany and Lazio. The Adriatic regions, initially characterized by clear or slightly cloudy skies, will see an increase in high clouds in the afternoon, while maintaining a predominantly dry context.
In Sardinia, however, the sky will be very cloudy from the morning, with precipitation intensifying in the afternoon, often taking the form of showers. Southern Italy and Sicily In Southern Italy, many clouds will cover the Molise Apennines, the Tyrrhenian and Ionian areas of Basilicata and Puglia, including western Sicily, from the morning.
Light rain and occasional showers are expected, especially in Campania and the western part of Sicily.
The Adriatic areas of Molise and Puglia, initially with clear skies, will see a progressive increase in cloud cover in the afternoon, with consequent intensification of precipitation in Campania, Tyrrhenian Basilicata, and western Calabria. Winds In Sardinia, Mistral winds will be moderate in the morning but will tend to become strong by evening, with possible gale-force gusts.
Elsewhere, weak southern winds will blow in Liguria, northern winds in Puglia and the Ionian areas, and variable winds in the rest of the country. During the day, winds will intensify from the northwest in the western Alps, from the north in Liguria, and from the west in Tuscany and Lazio, while in the remaining central-southern areas and along the northern Adriatic coasts, southern-origin winds will prevail.
