The first real weekend of September was characterized by rain, thunderstorms, and frequent lightning.
Disturbance number 3 is already moving away, but autumn is certainly not over.
Meteorological autumn, which began on September 1st (while astronomical autumn will begin on September 22nd), started at a fast pace.
A new disturbance is ready to reach us in the next few hours, starting from today, Wednesday, September 11th.
Rain and thunderstorms in Northern Italy starting from the afternoon
Today will be a particularly eventful day, especially in the afternoon, with the arrival of disturbance number 4.
In the morning, the skies will be quite sunny in the Center-South, with some brief showers possible in the Tyrrhenian areas. In the North, however, instability will increase in the afternoon with rain and thunderstorms scattered between Veneto, Lombardy, western Emilia-Romagna, and Liguria.
By evening, strong thunderstorms will also affect Piedmont, Tuscany, and the Adriatic coastal areas. Temperatures will drop in the North, with values remaining around 24-28°C throughout Italy.
This disturbance will continue on Thursday, September 12th, involving the Central-Southern regions, particularly the lower Tyrrhenian.
There will be not only rain but also strong winds and snow in the Alps starting from 1700 meters.
