This atmospheric configuration will produce prolonged bad weather conditions for most of the week, affecting the weather especially in Central Italy and Southern Italy. This anticyclonic block situation, associated with the absence of usual ocean currents, is making for an unusual September.
The cyclonic circulation will gradually move towards France in the second part of the week, but before then, instability will hit Italy hard. Temperatures will be below the seasonal average, with values around 18-22°C in Northern Italy and Central Italy, and slightly milder in Southern Italy and the Main Islands.
Only towards the weekend is a slight increase in temperatures expected, when the depression flow weakens and the anticyclone attempts a return, bringing an improvement in weather conditions.

On Wednesday, September 18, bad weather will continue to hit the same regions, with more intense rain on the Adriatic sides, especially in Romagna and Marche, where significant accumulations could occur.
Other areas of Northern Italy and Central Italy will also see episodes of bad weather, although less widespread compared to the eastern sides. Thursday, September 19 will see a continuation of these conditions, with persistent rain in Central-Southern Italy and Emilia Romagna, where the weather situation will remain unstable for most of the day.

The cyclonic circulation, which is bringing widespread rain and below-average temperatures, will gradually move towards France by the end of the week.
