However, the weather situation is set to change significantly with the start of the new week, when we will witness a marked change in atmospheric circulation that will favor the entry of an Atlantic trough into Italian territory.
This will give rise to a cyclonic vortex that will cross the peninsula rather slowly, thus determining a prolonged unstable phase. Monday, September 30, will be a transitional day, with mostly stable weather conditions.
However, an increase in cloudiness will be noticeable, especially in the North, while in the Center and South the sun will continue to shine, with cool and breezy weather, particularly in the Adriatic sectors. Tuesday, October 1, the first signs of change will begin to be felt.
Atmospheric pressure will be dropping due to the approaching Atlantic disturbance.
In the North and part of the Center, the sky will become progressively very cloudy or overcast, with the first rains, initially light, tending to intensify by the evening, especially in upper Tuscany and the Alpine-Prealpine sectors.
In the South, however, the weather will remain dry. The worsening will come into full swing on Wednesday, October 2, when the disturbance will hit central-northern Italy more decisively.
Rain and thunderstorms are expected, especially in the central-eastern Po Valley and the central Tyrrhenian regions by the end of the day.
In the South, however, it will remain stable, with southern currents leading to a significant increase in temperatures, with possible peaks of 27-29 degrees. Thursday, October 3 and Friday, October 4, the depression circulation will tend to move further south, concentrating bad weather especially in the central-southern regions, with even intense rain and thunderstorms.
Special attention should be paid to the Tyrrhenian sectors and the Ionian area where flash flood phenomena could occur. In the coming days, we will be able to provide more details on this worsening, follow the updates!
