The long sunny days, which were a source of joy, now often turn into an ordeal due to high temperatures and oppressive humidity.
Now there’s increasingly oppressive heat
The summer weather conditions, characterized by suffocating heat that persists even at night, make the expression “beautiful season” almost ironic.
Surviving these scorching days mainly relies on seeking coolness in the evening hours or taking refuge in air-conditioned spaces.
Discomfort for a long time, even beyond summer boundaries
The discomfort caused by summer weather is not only physical but also psychological, with effects that extend well beyond the hottest months. It is interesting to observe how last year’s winter temperatures, unusually mild and higher than those of the last summer weeks, attracted little attention. A temperature range of 15-20 degrees can be perceived as pleasant, thus hiding the subtle but significant climatic variations.
A climatic upheaval
The changes in seasons, with increasingly hot summers and milder winters, reflect a climate change that is radically altering our weather experience.
What was once pleasant, like spending time outdoors during the summer, now represents a true test of endurance. Similarly, milder winter temperatures mask a continuously evolving meteorological reality, which requires greater awareness and adaptation on our part.
It’s too late now
What can we do? Unfortunately, not much.
We should have changed our CO2 emission regime earlier.
The climate has now changed irreversibly, and the only thing we can do is adapt to this new reality.
The more carbon dioxide emissions we continue to produce, the greater the weather and climate upheavals will be in the coming decades.
